Expanding Marlin’s Ecosystem with a Conversational AI

Hello Marlin Team,

I have been a member of the Marlin community for 4 years now, and I am reaching out to suggest some ideas. Previously, I suggested adding names to deployed instances to differentiate them from one another, which you implemented, and I sincerely thank you for that.

Today, I would like to share a new idea to contribute to the development of Marlin. While technical users already benefit from solutions like Oyster TEE, I believe it is crucial to propose a tool that can also attract novice users. Currently, the Marlin community lacks interaction and engagement, and it would be relevant to develop a project that revitalizes it while concretely showcasing the capabilities of the network.

I propose the creation of a conversational AI, simple and accessible, with the following features:

  • Question and Answer: A simple system similar to ChatGPT, based on an accessible question-answer model.
  • Translation System: A feature allowing users to select a language and instantly translate any text, regardless of its original language.
  • Text-to-Image: Like most existing AI tools, this would allow users to generate images from text prompts.
  • Image-to-Image: Generate new images from an existing one (or several), offering variations or adaptations.
  • Meme Generator for Marlin (optional): A fun and engaging idea that could be non-priority but useful for fostering community engagement.

Functionality and Integration into the Marlin Ecosystem

The idea would be to use an existing open-source interface and adapt it with a design aligned with Marlin’s branding (dark/light theme). Users would connect via their wallets and have access to a free trial. Subsequently, they would pay for full access to the features using Marlin tokens, which could include a token-burning mechanism to strengthen their value.

Ideally, a fixed-price subscription could be offered for full use of the AI. This solution could be compatible with blockchains like Solana, Ethereum, and Arbitrum to provide broad accessibility. (I’m not sure if a smart contract exists on Solana.)

An interactive dashboard could display key statistics, such as the number of messages exchanged, active users, tokens burned, images generated, and more. The images would be hosted through a decentralized system like IPFS, ensuring both security and easy sharing.

Project Objective

The main goal of this project would be to foster a new community around an accessible and evolving tool while highlighting the capabilities of the Marlin network. Additionally, it would strengthen interest in and usage of Marlin tokens through a concrete use case. By building an intuitive and practical project, you could appeal to both technical experts and novices, demonstrating what is possible with the network.

Development and Launch

To maximize impact and quickly test the viability of this tool, the goal would be to develop a functional prototype using existing APIs or pre-trained models. A first version could be launched in a short timeframe, for example, through a two-week sprint. While simple at first, this prototype could be gradually enriched with new features.

Finally, a structured marketing launch would be crucial, including a presentation video, collaborations with influencers and strategic partners, as well as targeted communication to maximize adoption. This project could also serve as a showcase to attract future partners and demonstrate Marlin’s value to the broader public.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.
